Marvin W. Skougstad papers, 1953-1983.

Collection contains manuscripts and published copies of reports and articles written by Skougstad during his service with the U.S. Geological Survey's Water Resources Division. Collection also contains Skougstad's subject files (which contain correspondence, notes, government documents, printed materials, class materials, maps, papers, and reports), water data from 29 U.S. cities, 5 computer printouts of analysis of water in New York State, and tabbed notebook pages on various water pollutants. A dozen photographs of a 1976 tour of the Denver Water Laboratory, miscellaneous government documents, reprints, clippings, and miscellaneous printed materials are in this collection as well.

Marvin W. Skougstad (1918-1983) was a water chemist during the second half of the twentieth century. A native of Beloit, Wisconsin and educated at the University of Wisconsin, Skougstad joined the U.S. Geological Survey's Water Resources Division in 1958 and served as a water chemist at the agency's Lakewood, Colorado office from 1958 to 1980.
